Order to all and singular of whatsoever rank in the castle, on pain of forfeiture of life and limbs and all other things which they could forfeit, to deliver the castle to him. The like to Simon de Wodeham, the king’s yeoman, of the castle of Konyngesburgh, late of the same earl, in the king’s hand by his forfeiture, with all goods etc. as above, so that he answer for the issues thereof in the chamber. Order to Adam le Bloy, and Peter de Sancto Johanne to deliver to him the same, which is in the king’s hand and in their keeping, with the goods and chattels aforesaid, by indenture etc. Order to the sheriff of York and all other bailiffs, ministers and others in that county to be intendant during pleasure to William de la Beche, keeper of the castle of Sandale, whom the king has appointed to inform himself what jewels and other goods or chattels late of Thomas, earl of Lancaster, the king’s enemy, or of other the king’s enemies and rebels, which ought to come to the king by their forfeiture, were found in the said castle and withdrawn therefrom, and by whom, and to seize the same in whosesoever hands they be, and to keep the same by indenture to be made until further order, and to certify the king thereon. Enrolment of grant by Roger son and heir of John de Seint Johan of Lageham, knight, to Sir Nicholas de Loveyne, knight, and to Margaret his wife of the reversion of all the land which Sir Peter de Seint Johan, Roger's uncle, holds for life, with woods, meadows and other appurtenances, which land is called 'Ladylond,' and was formerly parcel of the manor of Lageham; Roger has also granted to them the reversion of all the lands and meadows with their appurtenances which John de Codeston holds of the lease of Dame Katherine, Roger's mother, for her life, as parcel of the said manor; Roger has also granted to them the reversion of all the lands which John le Forester holds with appurtenances, of the lease of the said Katherine, for her life, as parcel of the said manor to hold for themselves and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder, in default of such heirs, to the right heirs of Nicholas.
